LEAD: We have found that we live in a very low lead exposure area and routine blood lead testing has uncovered no lead poisoning in any of our patients. We now screen for lead by doing a medical history instead of a blood test. Please let us know if any of the following pertain to your children: 1) Your child lives in or regularly visits a home, preschool or day care built before 1950 2) Your child lives in or regularly visits a home, preschool or day c a re built before 1978 with chipping or peeling paint or with a recent (in the past 6 months), current, or planned renovations 3) You or your child receives benefits from Medicaid or WIC or lives in the zip code 22046( 4) Your child has a sibling, housemate, or playmate being followed or treated for lead poisoning 5) Your child lives with an adult whose job or hobby involves exposure to lead 6) Your child lives near an active lead smelter, battery recycling plant or other heavy industry |
