Children's Acetaminophen Elixir (160mg/5ml), Infant Acetominophen (80mg/2.5ml), chewable tabs (80 mg), or Junior Strength swallow or chew caps (160 mg)
6-11 lbs -- 1/4 teaspoon (1.25ml)
12-17 lbs--1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml)
18-23 lbs--3/4 teaspoon (3.75ml)
24-35 lbs--1 teaspoon (5ml), or 2 of the 80mg chew tabs, or 1 of the 160 mg caps
36-47 lbs--1 1/2 teaspoon, or 3 of the 80 mg chew tabs, or 1 1/2 of the 160 mg caps
48-59 lbs--2 teaspoon, or 4 of the 80 mg chew tabs, or 2 of the 160 mg caps
60-71 lbs--2 1/2 teaspoon, or 5 of the 80 mg or 2 1/2 of the 160 mg caps
72-95 lbs--3 teaspoon, or 6 of the 80 mg caps or 3 of the 160 mg caps
96 lbs or over takes 4 of the 160 mg caps Ibuprofen Every 6-8 hours for ages >6 months
Ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil, and other Brands). Every 6-8 hours.
Ibuprofen Oral Infant Drops (50mg/1.25ml)
12-17 lbs--1.25 ml
18-23 lbs--1.875 ml
Ibuprofen Children's Suspension (100mg/5ml) (There are also chewable and swallowable tabs for older kids)
12-17 lbs--1/4-1/2 tsp
18-23 lbs--1/2-1 tsp
24-35 lbs--1 tsp
36-47 lbs--1 1/2 tsp, or 3 of the 50mg chew tabs, or 1 1/2 of the 100 mg swallow tabs
48-59 lbs--2 tsp, or 4 of the 50mg chew tabs, or 2 of the 100 mg swallow tabs
60-71 lbs--2 1/2 tsp, or 5 of the 50 mg chew tabs, or 2 1/2 of the 100 mg swallow tabs
72-95 lbs--3 tsp, or 6 of the 50 mg chew tabs, or 3 of the 100 mg swallow tabs
Diphenhydramine (Benedryl and other brand names). Every 6-8 hours.
Diphenhydramine elixir 12.5mg/5ml. (Antihistamine for itching, hives, allergic reactions) given every 6-8 hours as needed. May cause drowsiness.
