Emily A. Lozano received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley and her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She completed residency at Children’s Hospital Oakland, and became board certified in pediatrics in 1999. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
After residency, Dr. Lozano practiced as a pediatric hospitalist taking care of newborns in the San Francisco bay area for a year prior to completing additional training in pediatric cardiology at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, TX. She moved to northern Virginia in 2003 and has been a pediatric hospitalist and pediatric emergency physician at Reston Hospital Center.
During her time as a hospitalist she became interested in helping new mothers achieve their breastfeeding goals. She became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 2016. She joined Reston Town Center Pediatrics as a Lactation Consultant in 2017.
