Heather Kuhlman received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a focus in children and family counseling from North Carolina State University, Registered Nurse, ADN, from Tacoma Community College, BSN from George Mason University, and then MSN as a Family Nurse Practitioner from George Washington University. Over 14 years of nursing experience in CCU, PACU, labor and delivery, pediatrics, school nurse, and family practice in Washington State, Virginia, as well as in Africa at The International School of Uganda as well as in refugee clinics in Kampala, Uganda, and in Vicenza, Italy for the U.S. Army Medical Command.
Specialty training as a Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAMFE), Breastfeeding Specialist/Lactation Counselor Certified, and Certified BLS Instructor.
Volunteered at Free Clinic’s in Northern Virginia, Volunteered at Animal Humane Societies in Gaborone, Botswana, and volunteered in Uganda at a free clinic for displaced refugees with a Midwife in prenatal care and labor and delivery.
Received Army Civilian Service Commendation Medal 2021 and 2022 for Northern European Army Command.
She is a proud Army wife of 18 years and the proud mother of 3 children ages 13, 10, and 5. Lucky to have lived all over the U.S. and the privilege to live and work in Africa and Europe. She enjoys reading, traveling, running, lifting weight, and drinking coffee and prosecco.
She recently had the honor to join RTCP as a Family Nurse Practitioner this past summer 2022, and as a breastfeeding specialist/lactation counselor. She is so excited to be here, and is looking forward to getting to know all her new patients!
