Stephen Harrison received his undergraduate degree from Yale University and received his medical degree from The University of Michigan. Dr. Harrison completed his residency in pediatrics at Georgetown University Hospital and entered private practice in 1978. He became board certified in pediatrics in 1980 and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
In his free time, Steve is an avid sailor and has a passion for hockey as he is an ex-hockey player.
Michelle Susco received her undergraduate degree from Canisius College and her medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Susco completed her residency in pediatrics at Children’s National Medical Center. She became board certified in pediatrics in 1994 and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. After residency, she practiced at Child Health Care of Manassas for five years prior to joining Reston Town Center Pediatrics in 1999.
In her free time, Michelle likes to travel, read and spend time with her husband and three young adult children. As an avid Washington Nationals and Buffalo Bills fan, she has a special interest in sports medicine treatment.
Hope Scott received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University and her medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Scott completed her residency and was chief resident at Georgetown University Hospital prior to entering private practice in 1989. She became board certified in pediatrics in 1989 and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. In 2005, she earned an additional board certification in developmental-behavioral pediatrics.

Suzanne Powers received her undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech. Before starting her medical career, she worked as an engineer with General Electric. After 6 years in the work force, she decided to return to medical school. Dr. Powers received her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center. She is board certified in pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. After residency, Suzanne first practiced in Michigan at the Family Health Center of Battle Creek. She joined Reston Town Center Pediatrics in 2004. Dr. Powers served as the Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at Reston Hospital Center for 6 years and is now involved in their Perinatal Interdisciplinary Council. She is a preceptor for INOVA Children's Hospital Pediatric Residency Program.
In her spare time, Suzanne teaches Jazzercise (yes, it is still around and a ton of fun!) and enjoys spending time with her family and her 3 adopted dogs.
Vincent P Ascrizzi,
Vincent P. Ascrizzi received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Cornell University. Dr. Ascrizzi completed his residency in pediatrics at Children's National Medical Center and joined Reston Town Center Pediatrics in 1993. He is board certified in Pediatrics and is a fellow of American Academy of Pediatrics.
Vince's hobbies include bird watching, vegetable gardening, hiking, and spending time with his family.
Angelika Rampal received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University and attended medical school at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Rampal completed her residency and was chief resident at UCLA Medical Center. She became board certified in pediatrics in 2005 and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She earned an additional board certification in integrative and holistic medicine in 2008. After residency, she joined the faculty at UCLA and practiced there for several years prior to joining Reston Town Center Pediatrics in 2010.

Our Nurse Practitioners
RN, MSN, CPNP, IBCLC
Nancy received her undergraduate degree from Villanova University. She served as an army nurse for several years, working in various locations and settings. Most of her time was spent on pediatric oncology units, the pediatric ICU, and the ER. Nancy earned her Masters of Science in Nursing and lactation consultant education at The Catholic University of America. She became a certified pediatric nurse practitioner and lactation consultant in 2000 and then entered private practice.
Katherine Major McHugh,
RN, MSN, CPNP
Katherine earned her undergraduate degree at James Madison University and Masters of Science in Nursing at the University of Virginia. She worked as a nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Inova Fairfax Hospital for 5 years before entering private practice in 2013.
In her spare time Katherine enjoys running, barre classes, cooking, baking, reading, going to the beach, and spending time with her husband and daughter.
RN, MSN, CFNP
Amy earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Duquesne University, and her Masters of Science in Nursing at the University of Virginia. Previous to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, she spent eight years as a registered nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She entered into private practice as a CPNP in 2014.
A Pittsburgh native, Amy has spent over the past ten years living in Virginia. She loves spending her down time cooking, traveling, and spending time outdoors.
Jane Q. Thompson,
RN, MSN, FNP-BC
Jane joined the Reston Town Center Pediatrics family in 2008. She earned her Masters of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University. She became a board certified nurse practitioner in 2000. After serving in the National Health Service Corps in rural Florida, Jane returned to the DC metro area and began working in private practice in 2002. Jane's professional interests include newborn care and breastfeeding and developmental and behavioral health.
Jane's personal interests include running, going to concerts and sporting events and spending time with her husband, daughters and pets.

Carolyn received her undergraduate nursing degree at Villanova University and graduate degree of nursing science and public health leadership at the University of Virginia. She worked as a pediatric transplant nurse at Georgetown University Hospital for four years before joining private practice in 2012 at Reston Town Center Pediatrics. In 2015, she spent time volunteering in the pediatric hospital of Kosovo before working in the gastroenterology department of Boston Children’s Hospital, caring for children who required IV nutrition. She is thrilled to be returning to Reston Town Center Pediatrics and looks forward to caring for both healthy and complex needs children in the community once again.
Carolyn enjoys travel, reading, running and spending time with her family.
Our Lactation Consultants
Mary Bright obtained her nursing diploma from Chesapeake School of Nursing in 1971. After breastfeeding her second child, she realized she wanted to help others navigate the challenges associated with breastfeeding. With the support of co-workers and family, RTCP Lactation services was born. Mary received her Lactation Certificate from Georgetown University Hospital in 1993. Mary feels blessed to be able to do what she loves.
Mary enjoys living in the country and spending time with family and friends. Mary also enjoys dogs and horses, as well as sewing, stitching and quilting.
Emily A. Lozano,
M.D., F.A.A.P., I.B.C.L.C.
Emily A. Lozano received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley and her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She completed residency at Children’s Hospital Oakland, and became board certified in pediatrics in 1999. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
After residency, Dr. Lozano practiced as a pediatric hospitalist taking care of newborns in the San Francisco bay area for a year prior to completing additional training in pediatric cardiology at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, TX. She moved to Northern Virginia in 2003 and has been a pediatric hospitalist and pediatric emergency physician at Reston Hospital Center.
During her time as a hospitalist she became interested in helping new mothers achieve their breastfeeding goals. She became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 2016. She joined Reston Town Center Pediatrics as a Lactation Consultant in 2017.
