RTC Pediatrics Vaccine Policy
At RTC Pediatrics, the health and safety of our patients are our highest priorities. We believe childhood immunizations are one of the safest and most effective ways to protect children from serious vaccine-preventable diseases. Our practice follows the immunization schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
Vaccines not only protect your child, but also help safeguard newborns, children receiving cancer treatment, transplant recipients, and other medically vulnerable patients who rely on high vaccination rates within our community.
We are committed to open, respectful communication and welcome questions about vaccines. Our providers are happy to discuss vaccine safety, effectiveness, and the diseases they prevent so families can make informed decisions. Children receiving care at RTC Pediatrics are expected to follow the current AAP Recommended Immunization Schedule.
RTC Pediatrics does not follow delayed, selective, or alternative vaccine schedules. Selective refusal of individual AAP-recommended vaccines for non-medical reasons is not consistent with our practice philosophy. Children with a documented medical contraindication to a specific vaccine will be evaluated individually according to current AAP recommendations.
Families who choose not to follow the AAP immunization schedule may be dismissed from the practice after appropriate notice and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
