Jessica Howard DO, FAAP

Jessica Howard received her undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech, and she remained in Blacksburg to get her medical degree from the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Howard then completed her pediatric residency at Inova Fairfax Hospital. She became board certified in 2013 and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Prior to joining Reston Town Center Pediatrics, Dr. Howard worked as a pediatrician in Maryland for nine years. She has also received additional training as an advance lactation specialist to provide better support for moms and babies with breastfeeding difficulties. Additionally, as a Red Cross Blood Program Leader, she is passionate about the importance of blood donation and helps organize blood drives (and donates a lot of blood herself).

In her free time, Dr. Howard enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two young son, traveling, and a good spa day! She also remains an avid Virginia Tech sports fan. Go Hokies!

We are required to report visits outside of normal business hours to your insurance provider. Appointments scheduled before 8am, after 5pm, on Saturdays and on Federal holidays will incur an additional fee, which may be applied to your copay, coinsurance, or annual deductible.

We are closed for Christmas Day, New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving Day.

We require an appointment for your child to be seen.

NO WALK-IN CLINICS. All sick visits are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Friday
8:00 AM – 9:00 AM

Walk-In Sick Clinics take place on Monday mornings and Friday mornings from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM for our established patients only. Established patients are those who have already had at least one office visit with RTC Pediatrics. Walk-In Sick Clinics are for patients with minor illness symptoms lasting less than a week. Patients are seen on a first come, first served basis. Please bring your insurance card and be prepared to pay your copay if applicable.

For sick visit needs at any other hours of the day or days of the week, please call our office at 703-435-3636 and choose option 3 to speak with one of our nurses to schedule a sick appointment.

After-Hours Care

If your child’s illness or injury is life threatening, call 911.

Save time and call us before you take a trip to urgent care. When the office is closed, you may choose to be connected to our after-hours answering service. If needed, they can connect you to the physician on call. The fee to speak to someone after hours is $25/call. This service is not billed to your insurance. Poison Control Hotline (800) 222-1222
